The ceremony commences daily at 7:30 am with the "opening gate ceremony" at the Dacheng Gate of the Confucius Temple. The mingzan position, historically held by courtesy officers in ancient China, is now occupied by skilled individuals who have inherited the art of ceremonial hosting. Kong Lingkai, the current mingzan, has dedicated nine years to perfecting his role, ensuring that the audience experiences a profound connection to Confucian culture through precise gestures and vocal delivery.
